An archive you can find your way around

A small naming system saves hours when you need one specific clip.

Organize around projects

Start with year, then project name. Inside each project keep originals, exports, captions and permissions. Do not make your archive depend on a social account remaining accessible.

Name the version clearly

Use a consistent pattern: date_subject_version.ext. Reserve master for your final high-quality export. When a client approves a version, preserve that file unchanged and note the approval date in your project notes.

Check integrity and restoration

Open a few archived files every month. Confirm that sound, duration and dimensions are correct. Keep checksum records for valuable masters, and occasionally restore a folder from your backup to verify that recovery works.

Only download content that you own or have permission to save. Platform availability depends on your configured provider.
